Anny C. is a published mathematician

Year 8 student Anny C. submitted a mathematical solution to a problem set by NRICH, and although there were too many good solutions to mention everyone who entered, Anny’s solution was published on the website. Anny used factors to find the values of the shapes – well done Anny!

Daisy M. succeeds in eventing

Year 11. student Daisy M. had a very good but also a rather busy summer, full of training for her eventing competitions. Earlier in the summer, she qualified to represent the Eastern Region in the British National Eventing Championships for U18. At the end of July, the Eastern team travelled to Frickley in Yorkshire to navigate a challenging three-day competition, which they managed to win and received rosettes for victory. In the months ahead Daisy will face the challenge of combining her GCSE studies with riding training and we look forward to supporting her as she does so and hearing more about her future pursuits.

Holly T. - elite UK fencer

Holly T., Year 10 student, has recently been invited to take part in the national elite talent programme for UK Fencing. A recent set of positive results in national competitions means that her rankings place her within selection range for international competitions so she is hopeful for a call up in the next few months if she continues to improve. In England U15 she is no. 15 and in the cadets U17, she is no. 24, having not yet competed in many national competitions but as she continues to compete this year she hopes to rank higher each time.
