School life

A community full of happiness, friendship and joy shapes school life at St Mary's.

Enriched by diversity

With day students and boarders representing over 20 nationalities, a variety of social, religious and secular backgrounds, plus a broad ability range  every day life at St Mary's is enriched by diversity.

Happiness matters

Happiness is important to us and our pastoral care is second-to-none. As a Mary Ward School, traditional Christian values such as integrity, justice, hard work and respect sit at the heart of school life, creating a community in which every girl feels valued, supported and inspired. This is supported by our approach to chaplaincy, which aims to ensure everyone in school feels accepted and has a sense of belonging, whatever their background or belief.

School life

Here, both extroverts and introverts find their place. Our range of extra-curricular options include sport, drama, music and art, plus coding, creative writing, and Model United Nations, to name just a few.

Outside the classroom, a host of trips and adventures offer opportunities to extend and deepen friendships, to build confidence and skills, as well a providing unique learning experiences.

“We are delighted with St Mary’s. Every aspect of the school has fully supported our daughter’s academic, social and sporting development.”

“Choosing St Mary's is the best decision we could have made. My daughters are both happy and thriving. Their love of learning is encouraged and fostered. Every day on our journey home I listen to my daughter's chatting excitedly and enthusiastically about what they have learned each day.”
