Academic enrichment

Challenge. Explore. Collaborate.

We will encourage your daughter to explore new ideas and questions with confidence.

Our curriculum is full of opportunities to enrich and extend academic progress.

Enrich and extend
  • LEAP Pathfinders (Years 3-6) - Our unique academic extension programme includes everything from coding with Ada Lovelace to creative writing with Virginia Woolf. Through digital Pathfinder Challenges, girls choose topics reflecting their interests, as they develop indepdendent learning skills.
  • Guest speakers, workshops and talks - From illustrators and authors, to engineers, medics and scientists ... our girls meet people working at the forefront of their field.

  • Cambridge's awesome museums, exhibitions, talks and resources inspire learning every day. From robotics at Cambridge Science Centre to extinction prevention at the Museum of Zoology - all of Cambridge is our classroom!

  • Reflecting our values as a Mary Ward School, a Development Education programme introduces issues such as poverty and hunger, unequal distribution of wealth, environmental degradation and diminishing resources. As they grow, girls gain the knowledge and skills to make sound decisions for a just, sustainable world.

Big ideas, topics and challenges

St Mary's Festival of Ideas (inspired by Cambridge's brilliant Festival of Ideas) brings expert speakers into school for a series of thought-provoking conversations.

Our very own Climate Change Conference invited girls to consider solutions to one of the biggest challenges we face.
