Scholar's superintendent visit

The Cambridge Area Commander for Cambridgeshire Constabulary visited school at lunchtime on Monday 7 December to speak to a group of scholars about resilience in a male dominated working environment. 25 students in Year 7 and Year 8 heard from the Superintendent about what it’s like to work in the police force, and enjoyed having the opportunity to ask her questions.

The girls learned about how gender equality has improved in the police force since the Superintendent’s early career, heard about the shock of arriving at a crime scene to discover victims who had passed away, and discovered that the police will routinely investigate ‘silent 999 calls’ – tracing the location and attending the ‘scene of the crime’, which can on occasion have resulted from a toddler dialling 999.
