Senior School Development Consultation

On 8 October 2019, St Mary's School, Cambridge invited members of the local community into St Mary's Senior School, to consider plans for an innovative development project, which will greatly enhance student facilities.

Members of the public and representatives from local organisations were welcomed into St Mary's to view plans by architects van Heyningen and Haward Architects which will redevelop and extend current facilities in Bateman Street, Cambridge.

Representatives from the School, as well as architects and planners were on-hand to answer questions about the development plans. The meeting marked the start of a consultation phase, which is open for comment until 22 October 2019, with a view to submitting plans to Cambridge City Council prior to Christmas 2019.

Charlotte Avery, Headmistress of St Mary's School comments: "We were delighted to share our vision for improving the facilities we offer girls and to outline how this supports our provision of an education that meets the demands of the 21st century. We are hugely excited by the potential of this development and welcome comments from our local community."
