Year 8 students take Handmade Candles Cambridge stall to Halloween charity fundraising event

Last September, Year 8 students Emma and Eilidh started their own business, making ethically sourced candles. Under the name Handmade Candles Cambridge, they create and sell hand-poured candles in glass containers that can be returned for refill via an electric vehicle-run collection service. What began as a lockdown project continues to go from strength to strength, as the girls expand the ethical impact of their business.

Last weekend, Eilidh and Emma took part in a young entrepreneurs’ Halloween Funday Fundraiser at Histon Smokehouse. Working from 9.30am to 3.30pm, the girls showed both entrepreneurial and charitable spirit, as the event raised over £800 for East Anglian Children’s Hospice.

We’re so proud of the girls’ business and achievements. You can support their business by enquiring about the candles at @cambscandles_ or by email, cambs.candles@gmail.com.
