Winter Taster Workshop

Taster Workshop - Saturday 14 November, 9.00am - 12.30pm

We would love to welcome your daughter to our popular St Mary's Senior School Taster Workshop for girls currently in Years 5 - 8.

She will have the opportunity to experience two subjects of her choice from Physics, Textiles and Geography.

Physics

Discover the physics behind earthquakes, loud noises and waves in water, and how sound and light waves interact with the universe. Using fire, water and vibration, we will investigate how waves transfer energy and influence the world around us.

Textiles

Experiment with colour, pattern and texture through felting, embroidery and embellishment. No previous textiles experience is needed - just enthusiasm and a willingness to get creative!

Geography

Unearth the world beneath your feet in a hands-on session packed with experiments, creativity and geological investigation.

Outline of the day:  

  • Students arrive by 9.00am  

  • Session 1: 9.15am – 10.45am  

  • Break: 10.45am – 11.00am  

  • Session 2: 11.00am – 12.30pm  

  • Depart: 12.30pm

Once you have registered, we will email you to ask what two subjects, from the three listed above, your daughter would most like to explore.
