Thinking Beyond the Curriculum.

Congratulations to Kiana S. (Year 11) Charis C.(Year 10) and Tuppence K. (Year 13) who have all been shortlisted for the John Locke Essay Prize. Kiana and Tuppence were also commended for their entries in this prestigious, international writing competition, which challenges participants on topics ranging from Psychology and Law to Science and Technology.

This year, the competition received an extraordinary 100,227 entries from 183 countries, with the shortlist comprising just the top 17.5% of students. With its emphasis on independent thought, clear reasoning and persuasive writing, the competition celebrates the curiosity and intellectual independence that we encourage in our students, by challenging them to engage with complex questions beyond the curriculum.
