St Mary’s students and staff care for local environment with litter pick

Last week on Friday 25th March, twelve students and two members of staff joined Mrs Whiting on a litter pick as part of the Keep Britain Tidy's Great Big School Clean scheme. At lunchtime, they walked to Lammas Land and collected a mixture of general waste and recycling waste.

According to Keep Britain Tidy, if every child who attended school in the UK pledged to pick up just one bag of litter during the Great Big School Clean, they could remove 10.3 million bags of litter from our natural environment. We would like to thank the Eco Committee for working on this initiative to help reduce the impact of people on our local environment.
