St Mary’s Student team wins 3rd place in National Science Competition

We are proud to announce that Cecile T., along with her team of three friends, has achieved 3rd place in the You Be The Chemist Challenge UK 2024/25

Competing under the team name CHaT, they presented their innovative project “Aegis”, which explored the use of sodium bentonite as an environmentally sustainable solution to reduce flood damage in the UK. Their research highlighted how this natural material can be sourced, processed, and reused efficiently - supporting disaster risk reduction while protecting the environment.

This fantastic achievement showcases the creativity, teamwork, and scientific passion of our students.
