St Mary's School named finalist in the Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards.

St Mary’s is delighted to be named a finalist in this year’s Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards, in recognition of its approach to education in STEM.

At our Junior School, girls begin developing computational thinking skills from age three, learning to code at the same time as they learn to read. The seeds of this cultural ethos are sewn in our purpose-built STEM lab - an upcycled 1970’s greenhouse which previously saw life as a wind tunnel testing facility for Cambridge University.

This early foundation is then sustained through a whole-school programme which successfully inspires a new generation of girls to see themselves as future technologists, engineers and innovators.

St Mary’s joins other nominated organisations which exemplify the very best of Cambridge science and technology.
