St Mary's Celebrates Apple Day

St Mary's Celebrates Apple Day

Ever since Sir Isaac Newton watched an apple fall from a tree in the summer of 1666 and developed the idea of universal gravitation, the apple has been more than just a fruit, it has become a symbol of discovery, curiosity and education.

In celebrating Apple Day at St Mary’s, we have been enjoying a taste of autumn, combined with the simple joy of being outdoors in an atmosphere where learning meets wellbeing.

From juicing apples to apple peeling competitions, making friendship bracelets with tiny apple-shaped beads and eating some sweet, green and crispy apples too, apples were the star.

Leona C. in Year 12 was full of appreciation for our outdoor learning coordinator, Ms Hutchinson:

“She brings a huge amount of enthusiasm to days like this, and to the whole outdoor learning experience, showing us just how closely the outdoors and our wellbeing are connected.”
