Sixth Formers achieve fantastic A Level 2025 results

St Mary's Sixth Formers have achieved a brilliant set of A Level results this year, demonstrating their dedication and commitment to academic excellence. With 52% of grades awarded at A*-A and an impressive 76% at A*-B, these results have secured places at prestigious universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and UCL, where students will pursue subjects ranging from Medicine and Natural Sciences to Architecture and Graphic Design.

The success of St Mary's students demonstrates what happens when academic excellence and personal wellbeing work together. As research from the Girls' Schools Association continues to highlight the benefits of single-sex education, our students have flourished across the full breadth of subjects – from outstanding performances in Art, Music and Textiles to excellent achievements in Computer Science, Geography and Modern Languages.

This year's continued upward trajectory reflects our distinctive approach - creating an environment where intellectual curiosity thrives alongside confidence and compassion, preparing young women not just for university success, but for meaningful lives beyond.

Hannah Helliar, Head:

"Watching our Sixth Form students celebrate their well-deserved success today has been incredibly rewarding. These outstanding results are testament to their hard work, intellectual curiosity and resilience. For over 125 years, St Mary's has been opening doors for young women, and today we see those doors leading to top universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and UCL. True to our founder Mary Ward's vision, these remarkable students are prepared to 'do much' as they embark on the next chapter of their academic journeys."

Dr Paddy Wallace, Senior Deputy:

"These exceptional A Level results reflect the strength of our Sixth Form programme, in which we challenge our students educationally while providing the support they need to thrive. What makes me particularly proud is seeing how our students have developed not just as academic scholars, but as thoughtful, confident young women ready to make their mark at university and beyond."

St Mary's continues to provide an education where academic excellence and personal wellbeing go hand in hand. In our supportive yet intellectually challenging environment, students develop the confidence, curiosity and compassion to pursue their ambitions – not just achieving outstanding results, but becoming young women ready to make a meaningful difference in the world beyond.
