Senior School Prize Giving

Senior School Prize Giving

In the final week of term, students and families gathered for the annual prize-giving ceremony to celebrate the achievements of our students in Years 7-10 and 12 over the past academic year.

Head Girl, Charlotte M., delivered the welcome before music scholar Oshi K. performed Linden Lea, by Vaughan Williams.

Our Academic Scholars, Charis C. and Hattie K., then spoke about AI and whether it can be viewed as progress or peril, before the introduction of guest speaker, Professor Pippa Rogerson, from the Faculty of Law at The University of Cambridge. One of the UK's leading legal academics, and a former St Mary’s parent, Professor Rogerson was especially well placed to join us in celebrating the achievements of our students.

As a school founded on the principles of Mary Ward, who believed that "women in time will do much", our values of Freedom, Joy, Justice, Love and Truth provide a strong foundation, enabling students to explore, understand and navigate the complexities of today's society.

These values are reflected in how our students develop and succeed through our HEART habits: Hard Work, Empathy, Adaptability, Responsibility and Thoughtfulness.

Awards were presented for these HEART habits in recognition of students from each Year Group who have consistently demonstrated these qualities during everyday school life, to the benefit of all around them.

Subject Prizes were awarded across all areas of the curriculum to students who demonstrated outstanding effort and contribution, while Academic Achievement Awards recognised those who achieved the highest results in the end-of-year examinations.

House prizes were also presented to the House with the highest number of House points over the course of the year.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special event, helping to make it a memorable and inspirational afternoon for our students.
