Prize Giving at the Junior School is a Celebration of Learning

To conclude the final term of this academic year, our entire Junior School community came together for our annual Prize Giving, to reflect upon the incredible learning journey we have shared.

It was wonderful to see everyone gathered on the lawn to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our students, from their academic successes to the moments of creativity, resilience and kindness shown by each pupil as they blossom in their own unique way.

The Head Girl, Sylvie R., and deputies Charlotte T., Skye K. and Zoe P-S. opened the afternoon alongside our Interim Head of Juniors, Chris Hald, before Preschool and Reception gave a confident rendition of We are Going on a Bear Hunt to begin the afternoon's performances.

This year's awards were centred around the HEART values of the school, as well as the values of our founder, Mary Ward.

The HEART awards, for Hard work, Empathy, Adaptability, Responsibility and Thoughtfulness, were awarded to pupils showing learning attributes in their approach to learning, in how they articulate their understanding and the quality of the work they produced.

Awards for the Mary Ward values were presented to students whose actions exemplified freedom, joy, justice, love and truth - in their interactions with others, peers and adults alike, and their attitudes towards others and self, these students stood out. Trophies for excellence in the application of skills and talents to specific curriculum areas were also awarded.

As we enjoyed the students’ excitement of ‘moving up a year’, we took comfort in knowing that together, we have laid the foundations upon which their future success and fulfilment will be built.
