Junior School brings West End Magic to West Road Concert Hall

St Mary's Junior School delighted the audience with an unforgettable evening of music at the annual West Road concert this term. Through a compilation of well-known West End musical pieces, pupils showcased their individual talent, confidence, dedication and love of performing.

A wonderful variety of solos, duets, ensembles and choral performances reflected the months of hard work, both within the music curriculum and through a wide range of enrichment opportunities, with each student showing both technical skill and a deep appreciation of music.

Louisa Ankin, Head of Juniors said:

"I could not be prouder of our pupils following what was truly a magnificent evening at the West Road Concert Hall. From the opening note to the final chord, the audience was treated to an evening of entertainment that would not have been out of place on a West End stage. To stand in front of such a large audience requires real confidence, and every pupil embraced the opportunity with poise and enthusiasm."

Particularly heartening was the success of those performing for the very first time. While pre-performance nerves are entirely natural, the encouragement and kindness shown by the girls to one another behind the scenes reflected the supportive and caring community that defines St Mary's. Our older pupils continued to act as role models for their younger peers, demonstrating confident leadership and teamwork and showing what can be achieved through commitment and perseverance.

What stood out most throughout the evening was the strong sense of togetherness, with the warmth, teamwork and shared pride in one another’s success creating a truly special atmosphere. As we continue to nurture the extraordinary breadth of musical talent in our school, we look forward to sharing their performances with you again soon.
