Heroes and Villains Unite for Annual Charity Fun Run

St Mary's annual Charity Fun Run is always a colourful and energetic highlight of the Autumn Term, with the whole school taking part in fancy dress. This year's theme, 'Heroes and Villains' filled Lammas Land in Cambridge with unforgettable characters, from the Junior School's smallest (but no less powerful) Superwoman to a towering Darth Vader, a strikingly serpentine Medusa and a sea of the bluest Smurfs!

As always, the day began with a sea of pink, from pink sweatshirts and hair scrunchies to even pink stationery, in support of Breast Cancer Now, before the fun run itself. Each year, the school raises a substantial sum (over £9,000 last year) to support a range of local, national and international causes.

Six causes will benefit from our heroes and villains clocking up the laps round Lammas Land, including the new primary and secondary schools in Aweil, South Sudan, supported by the Mary Ward Loreto community; the Nepal Flood Appeal; Cambridge Women’s Aid; Safe Soulmates; Cambridge Past, Present and Future.
