A Tradition of Excellence: St Mary’s Singers Join National Youth Choir

Congratulations to Athena A. in Year 6, Georgie W., Year 8, and Music Scholar Greta H. in Year 9, who all successfully auditioned for places at the National Youth Choir of Great Britain - a truly prestigious achievement for them all!

The National Youth Choir is the country’s leading choir for young singers, offering exceptional training, performance opportunities, and national and international tours. Being selected is a mark of outstanding talent and dedication, and we are incredibly proud of our students for this remarkable accomplishment.

St Mary's encourages students to explore their music and drama talents, including working towards practical LAMDA qualifications, to expand on their self-confidence, communication and self-expression as well as improving their essential speaking and listening skills.

Athena, Georgie and Greta follow in the footsteps of a long line of talented St Mary's performers, who joined either the National Youth Choir or the equally acclaimed National Youth Orchestra, and later continued their musical journeys at a range of institutions including the University of Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music.
