Adventure, Adaptability and Achievement: DofE Practice Expeditions at St Mary’s
Adventure, adaptability and achievement were front and centre as our Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participants completed their practice expeditions, showing resilience, teamwork and impressive determination along the way.
Silver students tackled their practice expedition earlier in the year in the beautiful yet challenging Peak District, while Bronze participants recently completed theirs in the Essex Rodings. Both groups faced a mix of conditions that tested not only their navigation and outdoor skills, but also their ability to work together, adapt and stay positive.
From map reading to pitching tents and cooking meals, each task provided valuable opportunities to grow in confidence, independence and friendship. The girls supported one another with determination, showing great spirit as they developed the skills needed for their upcoming qualifying expeditions.
The Bronze qualifying expedition will take place in Suffolk, while the Silver team will be heading to the Yorkshire Dales later this year. Both will offer new terrain, new challenges, and another chance to shine.
We are incredibly proud of how all our participants have embraced the DofE ethos and look forward to cheering them on as they continue their journey towards their Awards.
