Year 9 art scholar wins first prize in local competition

Year 9 Art Scholar Mercedes K. recently won 1st prize at the Thaxted Gardening and Craft Show 2022.

Mercedes won the Photography ‘Best in Section’ award with a beautiful picture of her pet dog taken as a usually lit portrait. She also won prizes for her drawing of a lily flower and a detailed sketch of an eye in the 13+ section of the competition. 

Well done Mercedes, these are excellent accomplishments.
