St Mary's Giving Tree - big on charitable giving, a bit short on leaves!

It never takes very long for the St Mary's giving tree to become bare, because the idea is that you take off a leaf and replace it with a gift!

Every year, St Mary's covers a branch with paper leaves, each giving the details of a gift from the Christmas donation list from Jimmy's night shelter - a Cambridge-based organisation that supports people experiencing homelessness.

As the number of leaves on the tree dwindles, so the pile of gifts below grows. There were festive treats, toiletries, staples like tinned food, blankets - all so very kindly donated by the students, parents, guardians and friends who rally round and bring the spirit of our St Mary's community alive at Christmas.
