Year 5 learn about Elizabethan Theatre

Year 5 have started their new topic on Elizabethan Theatre this week, with a focus on Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. In their first lesson, the girls learned about the theatre experience of those times and how different it is to today. The girls were surprised to learn that, despite its popularity, the theatre was once seen to be quite disreputable (some even wore masks to disguise themselves) and how rowdy the audience could be!

The girls went on to write a diary entry as if they had travelled back in time and described the differences in past and present theatre experiences - some of the girls even created a role-play to experience it for themselves!
