Year 3 take on Captain Tom's 100 maths challenge!

Year 3 take on Captain Tom's 100 maths challenge!

This week, amongst their many assessments, Year 3 has continued their studies of the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, as well as plants.  The girls learned about the ruthlessness and cunning of the Viking raiders during the time of the late Anglo-Saxon kings, and how King Elthred "The Unready" tried paying the Vikings to not invade, unsuccessfully.  During our Plants Unit, the girls learned the importance of flowers and the main parts of flowers when creating seeds.

As a bonus during our week, we took on the Captain Tom 100 Maths challenge.  The girls were given 4 different coins and challenged to guess how long a line of 100 coins would be for each set.  The girls worked diligently using their various analytical skills to find the best answers.
