St Mary's team prove 'Yes She Can' at National Reading Champions Quiz

Congratulations to our team competing this week in the National Reading Champions Quiz, who really proved that 'Yes She Can' by coming fifth overall and scoring just six marks off the winning score. We are very proud of you all!

There were 35 schools participating in the East of England Regional Heat, so the team did very well to come fifth. Andrea Jackso, Manager of our Learning Resource Centre, who also helped coach and support our team said of the event:

This was a really challenging quiz consisting of ten rounds of ten questions on various literature related themes and topics such as Opening and Closing Lines, Villains, and Books on Screen. The team has done brilliantly well and have been a credit to our school!

Our students had a fantastic time and are looking forward to next year's event. The picture shows the final round, when Mr Dilly, the Quiz Master is acting out book titles!
