Junior School girls celebrate International Charles Darwin Day

Junior School girls celebrate International Charles Darwin Day

International Darwin Day inspires people throughout the globe to reflect and act on the principles of intellectual bravery, perpetual curiosity, scientific thinking, and hunger for truth as embodied in Charles Darwin.

Our Junior School girls had a fun and educational remote learning day celebrating International Charles Darwin Day on what would have been his birthday. In response to a request from our School Council, girls enjoyed dressing up as their favourite plants or animals and learning all about this great explorer. Although we celebrated remotely, it still bought us all together as a community and enabled us to reflect on the achievements of others. Girls were able to choose which activities interested them most, but all encouraged them to get outdoors and explore the world around them.

This day of celebration, activism, and international cooperation for the advancement of science, education, and human well-being, was a lovely way to finish this half term.
