Year 13 hold their own 'Work Experience Convention' for Year 10 and 12 Students

Year 13 hold their own 'Work Experience Convention' for Year 10 and 12 Students

Sixth Form students at St Mary's have been guiding younger students through the exciting challenge of work experience - an important aspect of their transition through education and into future employment.

Through engaging presentations, they have been helping Years 10 and 12 students explore the range of opportunities that are available, and not just by sharing information - they are showing what is possible.

As a glimpse into the world of employment, work experience can spark ideas about future careers, and who better to hear all this from than Sixth Formers who can draw on their own valuable and insightful experience of volunteering for charities and museums, shadowing professionals in laboratories and even working in a zoo.

As well as being benefical for the girls in the Senior School, this sharing of knowledge offers an opportunity for our Sixth Formers to develop their own skills in preparing and delivering presentations and answering questions on the spot - skills that will be useful in future interviews for university, employment and beyond.
