Summer Taster Workshop
We would love to welcome your daughter to our popular St Mary's Senior School Summer Taster Workshop (For girls currently in Years 5 - 8)
Saturday 6 June 2026
Time: 9.00 am - 12.30 pm
Please choose your workshops in order of preference.
During the morning, your daughter will have the opportunity to take part in two of the three activities on offer:
Biology - challenge yourself to a hands-on DNA extraction activity. Extract the white, stringy genetic material from a strawberry and explore the foundations of life and the double helix structure of DNA using everyday materials.
Games - attend our University standard sports facilities to play Softball Cricket, Netball and Hockey.
Classics - explore ancient Greek mythology and art. We will learn about the design of Greek temples and examine some of the stories illustrated on them, considering the messages that the stories conveyed and the artistic choices the sculptors made when depicting the myths. We will also create our own mythology-based architectural sculpture.

Your daughter will use our outstanding facilities and be taught by our inspirational teachers. giving her a feel of what being a student at St Mary's School, Cambridge would be like.
Throughout the morning, your daughter will also have the opportunity to meet and work with with some of our current scholars.
It is sure to be an excellent event.
