Outside the classroom

Adventures outside the classroom are in plentiful supply.

From work placements with world-leading employers in Cambridge, to overseas departmental trips to enhance learning and subject, Sixth Form life at St Mary's is full of opportunities for students to broaden their horizons.

Adventures include a Classics trip to Rome; cultural trips to Amsterdam, Iceland and Edinburgh; plus experiences that support our Christian ethos, such as our annual trip to Lourdes.

Many of our students complete the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, an internationally recognised award established for over 50 years. This challenging Award aims to develop a sense of independence, self-belief and responsibility. Students who complete this Award volunteer, learn, and join three or four day camping and hiking expeditions and gain valuable leadership and team work skills.
