Creative writing competition

St Mary’s School, Cambridge, is delighted to launch its seventh annual Creative Writing Competition.

Immerse yourself in a world of spies and sleuths – the theme for this year's competition is 'Mystery and Detective Fiction'. Put yourself in the mind of Agatha Christie, or in the shoes of Sherlock Holmes.

Find handy tips in our "Top Tips" section, and be inspired by snippets of stories from last year's competition.

The competition is open to boys and girls from Year 5 to Year 8 across Cambridgeshire. Unfortunately this year's competition is now closed as the deadline for submissions was Monday 15 October 2018.  Your handwritten entry should be no more than 500 words. Along with your entry, please complete and return the Entry Form.

The presentation evening will be held at St Mary’s Senior School on Thursday 8 November 2018 and the winner of each age category will win a book token. All the competitors who come to our presentation evening will receive a free book.
