Josephine discusses life as a boarder

My name is Josephine. I come from France. I'm thirteen and I'm in Year 9.

I came to Cambridge, to St Mary’s School because my cousin came here last year. She adored it and said it was great. She was not wrong! I came to St Mary’s in order to improve my English and to discover a new culture. I arrived in April, and I'm here for a term (3 months). I was warmly welcomed to Mary Ward House and also at school.

I really enjoy boarding. Every night on weekdays we have an hour of study. During this time we can ask the teacher who is there to help us to answer any questions. During the weekends, we have organized activities. For example, we went to the University Botanic Garden, we went to London to the Harry Potter studio, and we have been punting on the River Cam. The rest of our time is free time so we can walk around Cambridge, go shopping in town, go to restaurants or go to the cinema.

The staff are very nice. If you have a problem, they are always able to help you. To sum up the boarding school is very good. There is always a good atmosphere, which is great!
