Generous gifts for Operation Christmas Child

Generous gifts for Operation Christmas Child

As part of the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal, run by Samaritan’s Purse, Form 9T has been collecting shoeboxes from the rest of the school filled with gifts to send to disadvantaged children all over the world. The girls have been coordinating the appeal themselves, giving out information regarding the items to be donated, chasing up promised boxes and sorting through those collected to check that each box meets the guidelines laid out by Samaritan’s Purse.

The girls have managed to collect 72 boxes in total which were all packed up ready to send off yesterday. The boxes contain toys, school supplies, hygiene items and some clothing and each girl has put a lot of thought into what they have packed. Interesting items donated by the girls include a kite, a pig-themed furry eye mask and even a box which was entirely Frozen themed. The Form 9T classroom (and various members of the form) will sparkle for ever more thanks to those who used glittery paper to wrap their boxes!

Well done and thank you to all girls who donated a box, and special thanks to Form 9T for giving up a lot of their free time to support this excellent charitable campaign – they have done a fantastic job.
