St Mary’s Students welcomed their new Head Girl in Handover Assembly

Emmi B., in her year as Head Girl, showcased exceptional leadership, leaving an indelible impression. Mr Griffiths, Head of Sixth, acknowledged her stewardship, and the dedication of her team, stating that they have elevated the standards set within our academic community.

Emmi B. reflected on her tenure at The Sixth:

“My two years at St Mary's have been undeniably busy, filled with physics practicals and Head Girl responsibilities. Despite the hectic pace, it's an experience I wouldn't exchange for anything else. The school has been a vibrant environment to grow in, learn, and make lasting memories."

Emmi B. also acknowledged our Headmistress, Ms. Avery:

" Ms Avery, I could not tell you enough how much your support and advice have meant to me, and my personal growth. As we both prepare to embark on new journeys, your mentorship has been my guiding light, and notably for many other students at St Marys. "

During her time as Head Girl, Emmi was supported by her deputies, Natasha L. and Alice W., and her leadership team.

"To all my sixteen leaders, I've watched you all grow and shine in your unique ways. Keep that fire burning bright. Remember, St. Mary's isn't just about academics; it's about finding yourself, your passions, and your voice. "

As her speech came to a close, she imparted words of wisdom to our new Head Girl, Cecilia:

“Cecilia, stepping into this role requires organisation and presence. Invest in a good calendar to keep track of your commitments. Always remember, showing up is half the battle. Be present, be engaged, and the rest will naturally follow.”

Cecilia is a longstanding member of the St. Mary's family having joined the school in reception. During her time with us, she has grown a profound passion for positive change, growth, and unity. Cecilia and her supportive team of Deputy Heads, Alice H. and Lara C., and a dedicated team of prefects, stand poised to uphold and further enhance the ethos of our wonderful school.

During the Head Girl handover assembly, Cecilia pledged to support every member of our community:

"The leadership team and I will always be eager to help and listen to any member of the school community, no matter the topic. From choosing subjects at sixth form to navigating auditions for the upcoming musical, we are here to assist in overcoming challenges and celebrating successes, making this year truly memorable."
