Academic & Co-curricular Enrichment (ACE) Days: Learning Beyond the Classroom

Earlier this term, our students enjoyed a series of exciting Academic and Co-curricular Enrichment (ACE) Days, designed to develop confidence, teamwork, and real-world skills beyond the classroom.

Each year group took part in a memorable day of challenge and adventure:

  • Year 7 headed to Box End Park, Bedford, where they embraced water-based activities and teamwork challenges.

  • Year 8 spent the day at Adventure Nene, Stibbington, building resilience and outdoor skills through problem-solving and team-building exercises.

  • Year 9 took on the Nuclear Races in Brentwood, testing their endurance and determination on a thrilling obstacle course.

  • Year 10 enjoyed an action-packed visit to Ninja Warrior, Chelmsford, putting agility and coordination to the test.

  • Year 11 focused on their futures during an Employability Day, developing key career and life skills through workshops and interactive sessions.

  • Years 12 and 13 rounded off the week with an adventurous trip to Go Ape, Thetford, where they built teamwork and confidence high among the treetops.

These enrichment experiences provided wonderful opportunities for our students to challenge themselves, collaborate with peers, and create lasting memories - all while reinforcing the values of curiosity, courage, and community that are central to life at St Mary’s.
