Year 12 student commissioned by the North West Region of the Association of Catholic Women to create a painting

Lucy Q., a Year 12 Fine Art student, was commissioned by the North West Region of the Association of Catholic Women to create a painting for their annual gathering in London in the autumn of 2019. Every year the Catholic Women’s Societies across England hold an annual luncheon in London to celebrate women’s achievements in the church and their work with charities. This year, a focus will be placed on Catholic women praying together and contributions made to helping young people who have lost their lives, or had their lives affected by violence, drugs and harmful content on social media. It seems very fitting that the Association of Catholic Women asked a teenager to contribute artwork to their cause - they hope that Lucy’s work will be an inspiration and a wonderful prize for a lucky lady at the Association's meeting in autumn. Lucy said, "it was a honour to be chosen for this".
