Year 11 Drama students travel to London to see 'The Woman in Black'

On Tuesday 8 October the Year 11 GCSE Drama students traveled to the Fortune Theatre in London's Covent Garden to see The Woman in Black. As part of their GCSE exam, they must answer two questions on a live theatrical performance, focusing on either the performers or the production elements, such as costume or lighting. Due to this, the Drama department decided that this play would be a roaring success as it offers so much for the students to write about.

After departing shortly after period 4 the students and teachers took their seats in the front stalls. The students behaved magnificently throughout the entire performance, even when the Woman in Black herself passed close by them through the auditorium and onto the stage (there may have been a few screams from students and staff at this point!) After the performance, all of the students were overjoyed at the quality of acting and the various production elements. The Drama department was incredibly proud of the girls throughout the trip and it was such a success that we may run the same trip again next year!
