Students learn interview skills in interactive workshop

On Friday 15 February Lancaster University gave a presentation on interview skills. They gave advice on preparing for interviews including types of interview i.e. 1 to 1, panel and assessment centres, which students may encounter both at university and in the workplace. Students were asked to talk about themselves and identify their strengths and then introduced to the STAR technique when answering competency-based questions.

They offered practical tips such as the importance of body language and a professional appearance together with active listening skills and the value of a staying calm. The students came away with a clear understanding of the interview process and ten top tips on how to succeed at interview.
