A clean sweep for St Mary's in Cambridge art competition

The Art department is delighted to report that all five of our A Level Fine Art students selected to exhibit in The Arts Society Granta Sixth Form Art competition 2019 were prize winners.

It was a clean sweep for St Mary’s! For the Cambridge Drawing Society Awards, first prize was presented to Sungmin S. for her breath taking cityscape ‘Norang’, second prize to Fatima Y. for her stunning painting ‘Beautiful Devolution’ and third prize to Catherine Z. for her highly skilled observational drawing ‘Death Takes All Beings’. Kate F. and Emma P. received commendations for their entries.

To have such spectacular results when the overall standard was so high was a magnificent achievement for St Mary’s. The exhibition will be on display at Michaelhouse Cafe, Trinity St, Cambridge until Saturday 13 July.
