Students achieve Distinction in LAMDA Grade 8 Solo Acting Awards

Last week, recent Sixth Form graduates Sophie W. and Isobel B. returned to accept their LAMDA Grade 8 Gold Medal Solo Acting Awards. The girls were delighted with their Distinctions, the highest grade, and Head Teacher Mrs Avery joined to deliver their certificates and congratulate the students during a sunny moment in the cortile.

Both girls were desperate to complete their LAMDA journey and fortunately were able to take their exams this summer. They worked hard to bring their three performances back to life again. Their coach, Speech and Drama teacher Mrs Weber, reports that they undertook this task with ‘enormous energy, commitment and enthusiasm’. This achievement is well-deserved, following an unusually protracted journey towards this qualification, during which the girls showed determination and resilience. Sophie and Isobel’s exams were originally set to take place the day before lockdown was announced, shelving their plans after much hard work and anticipation.

We wish them well in their new ventures at their respective universities and sincerely hope they keep up their performance skills in the future.
