Sixth Form Activities

Beach Trip

Here at St Mary's we have a wide range of activities on offer in the Sixth Form. There is everything from the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to Rowing, from Young Enterprise to Spanish Film Club, from mentoring to trips to the beach.

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

Rafting!
Described by the Good Schools Guide as “the best we have ever, and we mean ever, seen”, the Gold Award scheme is one of the jewels in the Sixth Form crown. Often over 50% of the Upper Sixth are working towards the Gold award, a percentage unrivalled virtually anywhere else.

The Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award is not only satisfying in its own right but it is also highly valued by universities and employers. By taking this award you will gain a huge number of skills as well as the occasional blister! If you want to take advantage a glorious opportunity to be part of a scheme with a proven track record then St Mary's Sixth Form is the place for you.

Young Enterprise

Many Sixth Formers participate in our Young Enterprise group, building their business skills by setting up and running their own company. This year's group won four awards at local level including the prestigious Best Company, Best Businesswoman as well as Best Presentation and Best Financial Control.

We also organise, or take part in, a wide range of social, cultural and intellectual activities including:
