PTA Profiles 2011 - 2012

Mary Forster-Lewis

I have two girls at St Mary’s – Kitty Year 10 and Bella Year 8. In my spare time I love to read. We have loads of exciting things in store this year.

Ann Bloomfield

I have two daughters at St Mary’s, Amelia in Year 11 and Alice in Year 7.  Both have been at the school since Reception.   I have been involved in the PTA for 6 years.  I really enjoy organising events that the children enjoy & it is also a great opportunity to meet other parents.

Claire Borley

I am Chair of the PTA. My real job is as a commercial photographer but many moons ago went to St Mary’s or Convent as I know it. My daughter Georgie is in Year 9 and hopefully won’t use me, my mother, aunt and 3 sisters as role models (who went to St Mary’s too) and actually do some work. My son Jim (12 or is it 18) couldn’t get in so is at St Bede’s. I joined the PTA because my arm was twisted at the time and happily found that the people and events are actually good fun and nothing liked I imagined.

Karin Briden

I have twins who have been at the school since Reception.  I have helped out with the Junior School from the start, sometimes doing small tasks, other times a bit more.  It is a great way to meet other mums which will be more important when the girls go up to the Senior School.  I am PTA secretary and on the 2nd hand uniform committee.

Sally De Simone

I have two girls, one in Year 6 and one in Year 11.  I also have a younger son at the Perse Prep.  The best bit of belonging to the PTA is meeting people and giving something back to the girls.

Claire Holden

I am Joint Chair of the Junior School PTA. I am married to Mark & we have two girls at St Mary’s – Katie in Year 3 & Megan in Year 8 (going into Senior School in September).  I am now a full time mum but previous life a Headhunter & Recruitment in Finance.  Mark works in the City. We also have a son Michael who has been at St Faith’s & is at The Leys.

Nicola Kisala

I am Joint Chair of the Junior School PTA. I have one daughter currently in Year 3 of the Junior School.  As a family we always knew St Mary’s was the school for us, Alice being our only child. The ethos is so family orientated and this carries through to the parents on the PTA. I am a full time at home mum now, previously involved in HR.  We all value our role in the PTA and genuinely care about our input. If you are unsure whether to join the committee, come along to our coffee morning & you can choose how much involvement you have.

Virginie Merrell

I have two girls in the school, Emily in the Upper Sixth & Daisy in Year 9.  I have been involved in the PTA for 6 years now, 4 of these were as Treasurer.  The PTA is a great way of meeting people and it is good fun.  As Emily decided to stay on for the Sixth Form it looks like I will be involved a little longer.

Gail Osman

I am Vice Chair of the Junior School PTA. I have two girls at St Mary’s, Verity in Year 5 & Emily in Year 3. I joined the PTA when Verity was in Year 1 and I have never looked back.  I love being involved and the friendship I have gained whilst employed in such worthwhile efforts to raise money for the extra special things for the girls.  As a senior teacher at another school I find it relaxing & rewarding being a mum at St Mary’s & really being a part of the girls’ school life.

Dinah Papworth

I have two girls at St Mary’s in Years 5 & 9.  I am a farmer’s wife, a full-time mother and for the last two years have run the refreshment stall at the Christmas Fayre. I run 3 miles each week day morning, play tennis and love the weekends.

Jennie Pratt

I have two daughters at St Mary’s, Ellie in the Lower Sixth and Chezzie going into Year 10.  I’m a cancer nurse and I enjoy (or not!) keeping fit. I am also the main contact for one of the PTAs sub committees Loaves and Fishes.

Sally Ann Silver
I have one daughter in Year 10 who travels 30 miles per day – it’s worth it as she is such a happy girl since she joined St Mary’s. Since I have joined the PTA I have met some great people.

Sue Ward
I have 3 girls, all who have been or are at St Mary's. Currently I have Rosie in Year 11 and Pheobe in Year 9. I have been involved with both the Junior and Senior Schools over the years, helping with reception, working as a school nurse and on the PTA.

Felicity Wilson

I’m mother to Tom, Alice, Grace & Hannah.  We lived in Brazil and came to Cambridge in 2001.  Hannah is now in the Lower Sixth and has lots of good friends & loves St Mary’s.  Grace was also at St Mary’s and made some great friends.  I teach English to foreign business people in my spare time and joined the PTA 3 years ago.
