Hockey success - District Champions!

The Under 16 team took part in the district hockey preliminary tournament on 1 October. The girls played against two other schools which were both playing for a spot in the final. The girls played exceptionally well, winning all the games they played, enabling them to qualify for the district final. The district final took place on 8 October against all the other qualifying schools from the other leagues. The girls played against 3 schools. A slow start in their first match led to a team discussion and team bonding, after which the girls played their next 2 games with fight and determination to win the tournament. The girls won 2-0 in their game against St Bede’s and Comberton and 1-0 against Impington. By winning all three of their games the girls won the District Tournament, making St Mary’s Under 16 girls the current district hockey winners.
