My First Day At School

My First Day by Rachel K

It was the day before I had started St Mary's. I was so excited because I was starting a new school, but I was slightly nervous of the unknown. The next day I was packed and ready to go and before I knew it I was walking up the steps to the school. When I stepped into the school I was greeted by a fluster of girls showing me where to go. In my first lesson Mrs O'Sullivan came to check on me to see if I was okay, and I was. I had already met lots of welcoming girls. My teacher was Mrs McKee. She was very kind, and I thought, encouraging and helpful in the lessons.

I really enjoyed my first day at St Mary's and felt extremely settled in!

On the morning of my first day I was very excited to get to school as the whole experience was new to me and I knew there would be lots of nice people that I could make friends with. When I first walked through the door I felt a little nervous but I was looking forward to the school a lot. My teacher was at the bottom of the stairs and took me up to my classroom where I unpacked my bag and got all my things ready. She also introduced me to my sitting partner, Bella. Everyone was really helpful to me and showed me where all the things are and at break I was definitely not lonely! Last but certainly not least, the food was brilliant!

On the morning of my first day, I was really excited. I knew that I would like it here, yet as it got nearer the time, I got quite nervous. When I walked in the door I was nervous and excited at the same time. My teacher, Mrs Farmer, was waiting at the stairs to show me and some others around the school. I looked around the classroom and I saw some of the work I would be doing. Mrs Farmer introduced me to the person I would be sitting next to. Her name was Hannah. At break I was looked after and had a fun time. I played with Bella, Hannah and Connie. They were really helpful. At lunch I wasn't sure what to do but my seating partner showed me what to do so that was great. The food was great and I really enjoyed my first day.

When I arrived at St Mary's I was warmly welcomed to the class. I felt I was already part of the school. A few girls came up to me and showed me around the whole of the Junior School. It looked lovely and everyone was so nice to me I could not believe it. I then sat down to have my lesson and it was such fun but at the same time I learnt so much. Then it was playtime and everyone came up to me and played with me and I had a fabulous time and started to fit in with the other pupils. When it came to the end of the day, I did not want to leave because I had had so much fun that I was really looking forward to the next day.
