Why does each calendar have a time offset of 5 or 6 hours?
Our web server is located in the USA and is set to ET time, a 5 hour time difference from those of us in the UK. Daylight Saving Time (DST) is usually co–ordinated in the autumn but in the spring there is a week when there is a 6 hour time difference. (USA DST arrangements are likely to change in 2007.)
Help — I can’t log in!
- If you are a member of St Mary’s School staff, then you should have been sent your user name and password — if not, please e–mail the Administrator
- You will find a log in link on every page of the calendar
- Check that you have entered your user name and password correctly (NB both of these are cAsE–sEnsItiVe)
- You will be unable to log in unless session (transient) cookies are enabled in:
- Your browser and
- Your firewall
- NB Default settings in browsers and firewalls will normally allow session cookies to be set but you will need to check your browser and firewall settings if you made any changes to these defaults
Cookies used on this site
The calendar script only uses first–party session cookies. (No third–party cookies from other web sites are used.) Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser and are not permanently stored. Your privacy is therefore assured. If you would like to know more about cookies, see: AboutCookies.org
Can I have a log in account?
All St Mary’s School staff will need an account in order to be able to create events and make bookings. Others may also have an account if they think it might be useful. For example, if you do not want to subscribe to a calendar but would like reminders of several specific events, then it can save time if your e–mail address is stored for you in the system. Please e–mail the Administrator for help.
Can I change my user name?
If you are a member of St Mary’s School staff then, no, sorry! The reason for this is that your user name is included on the calendar when you add an event or booking and we need a consistent method that clearly and unambiguously shows who you are.
How do I change my password or e–mail address?
Hint for St Mary’s School staff: if you wish, you can use your school network password as your Calcium Calendar password.
- If you have just logged in, select User Options (the top item in the menu) or, if you are viewing a calendar, scroll to the bottom of the calendar and click on your user name
- You will now see the User Options page
- Change your password and/or e–mail address, as required
- Note that you can also change your time zone (if necessary) and/or select a default calendar to view
- Click the appropriate button(s)
- Scroll to the bottom and click Back to Calendar
I can’t see the pop–up windows...
Maybe your browser does not support pop–up windows or maybe you have chosen to block them in your browser or firewall — either way, you will not be able to access the information in pop–up windows. Despite this, you will not be at a disadvantage as alternatives have been provided for you.
