Editing and Deleting Events
Staff can edit or delete their own bookings/events. Calendar owners have full control and can edit or delete any bookings/events in the calendar.
Edit an event
- Navigate to the event in the calendar (so that you can see it displayed)
- Go to the ‘add/edit events’ page (see the add events page for help with this)
- Locate the event or booking you wish to edit and click the Edit button
- Make any necessary changes
- If you are a calendar owner editing someone else’s event, add the name of the event owner to the text of the event (if not already there), as once you have made modifications, your name will then be shown as the event owner
- Click the Replace Event button
- Click View Calendar to return to the calendar
- Calendar owners should note that for events that need approval, once an event has been edited by you, then it has also been approved
Delete an event
There are times when you may want to delete an event or certain instances of a repeating event (for example to delete all holiday dates for an event that repeats over the academic year, or lessons in the Hall when it is needed for public examinations):
- Navigate to the event in the calendar (so that you can see it displayed)
- Go to the ‘add/edit events’ page (see the add events page for help with this)
- Locate the event or booking you wish to delete
- If it is a repeating event, click the down arrow next to to the right of the Delete button and select which instances you wish to delete (the safest option is Only this date!)
- Now click the Delete button
- Repeat the process, as required (note that you can navigate to different dates within the ‘add/edit events’ page)
- Please note that you get no second change or warning message — your event will be deleted as soon as you click the Delete button
