Any regular calendar user may request a log–in account. However, only St Mary’s School staff and authorised others may add events etc.
Administrator message: please do not adjust any calendar settings other than those shown below — thank you!

Add a New User
- Log in
- Select System Administration from the Administrator Options area
- Under Operations, select Users
- Add a new user, as follows:
- User name: This should be in the same format as those already created, namely, first initial followed by family name (with no space in between), e.g. JToller. User names are cAsE–sEnsItiVe, so take care with the capitalisation. For users who have the appropriate permissions to add events, their names are displayed in the calendar as the Event Owner when they create a new event or booking.
- E–mail Address: When adding St Mary’s School staff, please use their school e–mail address.
- Default Calendar: Leave this blank for now.
- Timezone Offset: Change this to 5 hours as there is a 5 hour time difference between UK time and that of the web server. A user in a different time zone will be able to change this setting later.
- Set New Password: Use the standard default password for St Mary’s School staff. Use a different password for others.
- Locked: Do not check this box as we want users to be able to change their own e–mail addresses and passwords, etc.
- Click Save and then Done.
Add to User Group
You might notice an option to add users to a user group. Unfortunately, this feature seems to be a bit ‘buggy’ at the moment, so please do not use it.
Check Permissions
- Under Operations, select User Permissions
- Scroll down the list of Users, select the user you just created and click Get Current Permissions
- Please ask if you are not sure what permissions to set (or refer to other staff permissions for a guide) but, in general, they are as follows:
- St Mary’s School staff calendar owners: Administer access to the calendar they ‘own’
- St Mary’s School staff: View Only access to Term Dates calendar and School calendar, Edit Events access to all other calendars
- Parents: View Only access to all calendars
- Students: View Only access to all calendars
- Visitors: View Only access to all calendars
Send Confirmation E–mail
Send an e–mail to the new user containing their user name and password, and reminding them to change their password when they log in for the first time. (Note: St Mary’s School staff might like to use their network password.)
