Emma’s excellent progress in football

Year 11 student Emma W. is a footballer who during the Christmas holidays was selected to represent the English Independent Schools (EIS) national football team. She played an international match for the EIS team against Scotland, and won! This is not the first time Emma has played an international match; last year she was also selected to represent the English Schools England football team where she played against Northern Ireland and Scotland. Emma plays football for Essex RTC, training twice a week as well as playing in regular matches. She also played for Arsenal Academy when she was in Year 7. Beyond football Emma is also a national javelin thrower, having qualified to throw at the national English Schools Athletics event in both 2016 and 2017. Emma will resume training with Cambridge and Coleridge Athletic Club during the summer. Emma has an ambition to go to university in America to play ‘soccer’, with a hope of returning to England to play FA Women’s Super League. Congratulations to Emma on her achievements so far and we look forward to watching her further progression!
