Introduction My Story is about a eleven year old girl who loses her memory when she falls down a hill while playing hide and seek. Sir Thomas Sidney`s messenger finds her and takes her from Stratford to London where Sir Thomas Sidney lives. There she goes to school and Shakespeare`s friend sees her acting and she becomes an actor in the Shakespeare`s plays. |
Hide and Seek It was Elizabeth's turn to count, " 1, 2, 3, 4..."I could hear her in the distance, "97, 98, 99, 100 ready or not here I come." This is a great hiding place and she will never find me. I can hear her footsteps coming closer. I'll get up and run over to the tree over there. Okay now. |

stumbled and fell. That is all I remember. I must have
fallen down the hill because I woke up with somebody
poking me. "Hey stop that,"I said. I opened my
eyes. "AHH!" I screamed. A huge bald head
leaned over me. "Who, what, where?" The bald man interrupted. "I am Sir Thomas Sidney's messenger delivering a very important message and I saw you here so I checked if you were dead. We don't want bodies lying all around the countryside, do we? Anyway, you're not so I'll be on my way." The man turned on his heels and made his way over to the grand coach. He stood waiting for something. "Well what are you waiting for then? " he asked. He wanted me to go in the coach. I couldn't believe it; I was actually going on a real coach! As I got up, a sudden pain shot down my leg like an arrow. " OWW! " I shouted. "What is the matter now? " he said in frustration. "My leg," I said. " it is really painful, it might be broken." The man sighed. "Can you move it?" I tried and it did. It was very painful but it bent. "Yes, I can." "Come on then, get in." He was very annoyed now and was getting strict. "Hurry up then." It was a very painful journey but it was worth it. As I got in the padded cushions were very comfortable and warm as it as cold outside. We passed countryside and saw lots of wild animals. Slowly, building and people grew into the scenery as we got closer to a town like Stratford but much bigger. "Where are we?" I asked. "On the outskirts of London." Wow, I had never been to London before. It was the home of William Shakespeare the famous play writer. "Out you come now" he said. As I got off I saw a great mansion with huge iron gates protecting it. The man knocked on the gates and a gruff voice spoke, "Who is there?" "Sir Thomas Sidney's messenger." The huge iron gates suddenly opened, and made our way up the path leading to the mansion. In side there were lots of rooms and we were greeted by servants and important looking people, but I was soon rushed off to Sir Thomas Sidney himself! We went up two flights of stairs and five corriders to get to his room and I was quite tired when we got there but it was worth it. His room was filled with treasures that I had never seen before in my. Life amoungst that I could see a four poster bed. "Why, good morning, Sir, how has your day been?" asked the man. "Ohh hello, my day has been just fine thank you,"Sir said pleasantly. "Who is that behind you?" I walked forward and the man explained how he found me. "So, you are very lucky..." "Annabelle," I said. "Annabelle, sorry. Anyway, you look terrible. We had better get you some clean clothes. Mary." A woman appeared from behind a door. "Could you please get Annabelle some clothes." The lady scuttled off to get her work done. "Sir, I need to talk to you in private for a second please," the man said. "Of course, Annabelle, you just wait here a second please until Mary comes back with clothes," Sir said. Mary ran in with a pile of clothes and dropped them in front of me. As I put them on they felt really warm. When they came back they took me to dinner where I was served with beer, roast duck, vegetables and for pudding apple tart and custard. After dinner I was full and very sleepy. His Lordship took me to my room where I was to sleep. "You will hopefully live here for many years to come, but for now you must sleep. So goodnight," said Sir. "Goodnight," I said. From then on I knew things would be much, much better. Ten Years LaterLast time you saw me I was at Sir Thomas Sidney's house. Well, now I have a husband and three children. It all happened in my sowing lesson: one of Shakespeare`s friend asked his Lord sihp for a maid that could make costums for all Shakespeare`s plays and now I make all of Shakespeare's costums. Just think; it all started with a game of hide and seek. By Briony M |
