JC 2000 Celebrations

Our interpretation of the parables for the JC 2000 celebration was chosen for exhibition at Holy Trinity Church Cambridge in March. We are delighted by the honour and hope that all who went to see it enjoyed the piece and its special meaning for the millennium.

  •  Full boarding option re-introduced.
  •  A first: St Mary’s has a Headmaster! Dr Alf Jackson takes over as Acting Head 2000-2001.

2001

2002

  •  Nine new academic, music and all-round scholarships are introduced: six for 11+ entry and three for 13+ entry.

2003

  •  St Mary’s Reconnected — our online alumnae centre is launched.

2004

“We are asking our friends to consider making a gift to St Mary’s School in their wills and continue the legacy of Mary Ward to women’s education here in Cambridge. A key part of our fund–raising strategy is to increase the number of scholarships and bursaries that we can offer. We also seek funds to improve our buildings and facilities.”

2005

  •  Agnes Heron celebrates 40 years of teaching at St Mary’s and is featured in a lovely report on BBC Look East.

2006

  •  St Mary’s School takes on responsibility for St Catherine’s School. The new school is known as St Mary’s Junior School.
