Message from the Head Girl

I know it sounds a bit of a cliche but St Mary's really is the friendliest school ever. From the moment I arrived as a nervous eleven year old in an over-sized uniform, I knew that this was the place for me. There are so many wonderful opportunities at St Mary's in addition to the inspirational teaching and learning environment grounded by the strong St Mary's Ethos. There are strong sports teams playing in competitive inter-school games, school plays and musicals, house activities, charity events - like the themed 'Fun Run' and 'Lourdes Fundraising Fortnight' - and a chance to share your passions and talents with the community. Growing up as a St Mary's girl, I've felt valued as an individual every step of the way, helped and supported by my friends, the staff and everyone at the School.
I am currently studying for my A-levels in Music, English Literature and Classics, I am hoping to study Music at university. A-levels could be a nightmare but St Mary's manages to support each girl through them, encouraging us to learn more than the required academic lessons and to become better, kind-hearted, strong women ready to go out into the wider community. The spectacular pastoral care provided at St Mary's boosts our confidence, enthusiasm and poise, encouraging us to set high goals and helping us to achieve them. St Mary's girls are hugely individual and diverse, aiming for very different things in later life. However, being part of such a kind, passionate and exciting community draws us all together and makes us feel part of something really special. It is this community-spirit combined with the academic and pastoral excellence which has made me so happy here.
