Pre-Prep
![]() |
The children enjoy a happy, secure and stable learning environment, which forms the basis for future development. They are introduced to a broad, practical curriculum. Emphasis is placed on reading, writing and the understanding of mathematical concepts, delivered through challenging activities and imaginative play. Class teachers teach Science, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Art, Drama and Games. Other subjects, including French, Music, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Gymnastics and Dance are taught by subject specialists. The school's proximity to the University Botanic Garden and the local Cambridge museums provides the opportunity for regular visits to complement the curriculum.
Throughout the school great care is taken to ensure the emotional as well as the academic well-being of each child. Small class sizes allow for a significant degree of individual attention. Classroom teachers are supported by trained classroom assistants. There is regular formal and informal contact with parents through consultation evenings preceded by written reports.
Pre-prep will be relocated to No 6 Chaucer Road to join the Prep classes in the Summer term 2012.
Assessment & Reporting
Continuity and progression are carefully monitored, and this is underscored by a regular programme of formal and informal assessment. Written progress reports are prepared each term followed by parent consultations. In the Summer term parents and guardians are invited to browse through the child's work and her special achievements during the year.
